Environment, Agriculture and Future of our climate
“Everybody thinks that only the countries below sea levels are on front line of climate change impacts, infact our countries like Bhutan, high up in the Himalaya mountains are equally vulnerable to the climate change, due to the fast retreat of glaciers, there is an eminent threat of glaciers lake outburst flood”, says Her Excellency Ambassador Pema Choden during meeting with the students at Kalø Organic Agricultural.
Bhutan though lacking in resources has always sought development, only on its’ terms and not at the expense of its’ profoundly reverent but vulnerable Buddhist culture and fragile mountain eco-system. In this context, DANIDA has been a willing, big-hearted and opportune partner in providing assistance to Bhutan, in its’ quest for institution building and human resource development, DANIDA’s contribution in social, economic, legal and political reforms and technology has had a significant impact on our path to development and progress as a people and nation.
Bhutan has sought partnership and friends with the purest intention and conviction. The excellent rapport and abiding friendships that have developed between our two governments and people will be eternally cherished. We would like to express our humble appreciation for the special relationship that exists between our two countries and our gratitude for the generosity of the people of Danmark.
